HARMONY POLISH FOLK ENSEMBLE

Harmony Polish Folk Ensemble is Western New  York's largest Polish-American cultural and dance ensemble. In an effort to provide families with a culturally enriching experience, we formed this community folk dance group, centrally located and open to all ages from pre-school to senior citizen. We currently have three of the most highly trained Polish folk dance choreographers in Buffalo. Among our ensemble members are multiple families spanning several generations. In addition to dance, we have cultural lessons including folklore, holiday traditions, regional customs, crafts, history and simple language games and songs. The group takes part in public performances throughout the year, dressed in traditional folk wear from various regions of Poland. The group is proud to display the rich diversity of costumes worn throughout Poland. Harmony Polish Folk Ensemble's mission is to promote & sustain Polish heritage within the family, through study and performance of the traditional folk dances of Poland and cultural enrichment sessions. For more information, please call (716) 875-2030 or visit their website at harmonypfe.org

POLISH HERITAGE DANCERS OF WESTERN NEW YORK

Founded by Michelle Michalski Kisluk in October 1997, the group currently consists of 40 members, ages four through adult. Practices are held in Lancaster, NY. The children's group meets on Fridays and the teen/adult group meets on Mondays. Not only is dancing taught, but they like to include singing in Polish and learning about traditions as well. The group is fully costumed in the Krakowski Costume. In 1999, ball gowns and soldier uniforms were made for the youth group and Slask costumes for the children's group. In 2000 they acquired a set of homemade Cieszyn costumes donated by the Woszczak family for the youth group and Beskid costumes were made for the intermediate group. In 2004 they purchased a set of Lubelski costumes from Poland.  Also recently purchased from Poland are the Kaszuby region for the teen/adult group and Kurpie region were made for the teen/adults as well.
