READY. SET. POLKA!

Dyngus Day Buffalo & The Buffalo Touch release the world's FIRST Dyngus Day Polka Party CD

Ever since Buffalo's Chopin Singing Society introduced Polish-American music to their first Dyngus Day celebration on April 3, 1961, dancing to the polka has been synonymous with Buffalo's modern take on an ancient Slavic holiday.

While quirky mating rituals like boys sprinkling water on girls and the playful switching of each other with pussy willow branches signifies rebirth and the rite of cleansing, purification and fertility, a little twirl on the dance floor doesn't hurt either.

As the celebration spreads to cities all across North America, "Flirty Squirty: Dyngus Day Party Hits" is bound to provide the soundtrack for a little "dancin' & romancin'."

Dyngus Day Buffalo has personally selected this collection of polkas performed by Jerry Darlak & the Buffalo to ensure powerful polka music for your very own Dyngus Day party.

Ok, you've got the music, now invite a few friends, offer some Polish beer, Polish vodka, some pierogi & kielbasa and prepare to polka... and remember, "Everybody's Polish On Dyngus Day!"

Formed in 1996, Jerry Darlak and The Buffalo Touch have the proud distinction of being Grammy Award nominees in 2003, 2004 & 2009. Known as America’s “Party Polka Band,” The Buffalo Touch are best known for their on stage showmanship, infectious upbeat tempo and numerous toasts of “Na Zdrowie” throughout their performances.

The band was originally made up by the late Jerry Darlak and Tom Miniszewski with Mike Kurdziel, Ken Machelski, Ray Barsukiewicz, Jeff Osika, Steve Michaels, followed by Bill Barnas. Current members included Ken Machelski, Mike Nowakowski, Tadj, Rick Pijanowski, Gary Krew and Robin Pegg.

In addition to their Grammy nominations, Jerry Darlak & The Buffalo Touch have received numerous awards and accolades throughout the years including members of the band being inducted into the International Polka Association Hall of Fame (Darlak & Nowakowski) and into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame (Nowakowski).

Following the 2010 passing of friend and mentor Jerry Darlak, The Buffalo Touch continues to perform across the United States and Canada in the tradition and memory of the polka greats that have gone before them. The tracks including on “Flirty Squirty” have all appeared on previous Buffalo Touch recordings.
